What information do we collect? 

We collect information from you when you respond to a survey, apply to attend a workshop or course or fill out an application form to attend a course. 

For the 8 week MBSR Course the application form will include  your contact details: name, address, email and telephone number.  We will also ask you to provide data about your health history and current health. This is so that we can assess the safety of you participating in the course at this time. 

For Teacher Supervision and Teaching Training including workshops and Masterclasses, you will be asked to provide your name, address, email and telephone number and some information about your training and professional history. 

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address or phone number.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

Visitors to our websites

When someone visits mindfulnessweb.co.uk  we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not make and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be upfront about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

Website

This website is hosted by WESH UK. We use server statistics to collect anonymous information about users’ activity on the site, for example the number of users viewing pages on the site, to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the site and help us improve it

If you send us a private or direct message via social media the message will not will not be shared with any other organisations.

People who email us

They operate to industry-recognised best practice information security processes, within the framework of ISO 27001.

We will also monitor any emails sent to us, including file attachments, for viruses or malicious software. Please be aware that you have a responsibility to ensure that any email you send is within the bounds of the law.

Security and performance

We may use third party services to help maintain the security and performance of the  website.  For example we use Paypal to process payments. Paypal’s Privacy Policy can be viewed here. To deliver these services the IP addresses of visitors to the website may be processed.

What will we do with the information you provide to us?

All of the information you provide during the process will only be used for the purpose of progressing your application, or to fulfil legal or regulatory requirements if necessary.

We will not share any of the information you provide during the application process with any third parties for marketing purposes or store any of your information outside of the European Economic Area. The information you provide will be held securely by us and/or our data processors whether the information is in electronic or physical format.

We will use the contact details you provide to us to contact you to progress your application. We will use the other information you provide to assess your suitability for the course you have applied for.

What information do we ask for, and why?

We do not collect more information than we need to fulfil our stated purposes and will not retain it for longer than is necessary.  We are required to retain the information we collect on course Application Forms for 7 years for insurance purposes.

The information we ask for is used to assess your suitability for a  particular Workshop or Course.

If you give us consent to do so, we may also contact you regarding further courses, workshops or events.

All information we receive from you in order is kept private and is not shared with any 3rd party without your explicit permission (for example in the rare event that we need to contact another  health practitioner with whom you are already registered with as a patient.  Or if we need to liaise with the Course Director at the Mindful Academy). Any information held will be deleted after 7 years (the necessary amount of time for our insurance purposes)..  We collect your data to assess your suitability to join a particular course.  This may include your name, phone number, address, email address and any relevant health data. We may also collect feedback from you regarding a particular workshop or course you may have attended.  We do not collect more information than we need to fulfil our stated purposes and will not retain it for longer than is necessary.

Your rights

Under the 2018 Data Protection Act in alignment with the General Data Protection Regulation, you have rights as an individual which you can exercise in relation to the information we hold about you.

Complaints or queries

We try to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal information. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. We encourage people to bring it to our attention if they think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate.
